Reviews
I spend a lot of time at Speedway restaurants and had driven past 1911 over and over but never visited until this summer. I've been missing out! It's a pretty unique place because they have Go Kart track attached to the restaurant. It's fun to watch if you're able to sit near a window. The food and drinks are also really great. I like the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon (a small up-charge for bacon) and the club wrap. I always get the tater tots as the side because they're delicious! They have tons of TV's and are willing to change it if you have a certain game of event you're looking to watch! 1911 has become a staple in our list of go-to restaurants. Friendly staff and great food is guaranteed here.
1911 is one of our favorite restaurants on Main Street in Speedway. We love the food and now serving a limited menu but still offers most of the favorites. The tables are spaced according to the rules and 5 new tables have been added outdoors along Ford Street. So you have the option of seating in the all weather covered patio with large open windows, outdoors tables with umbrellas or inside. Tables are being sanitized and servers are wearing their masks. Upstairs has additional seating, a bar, mini bowling, arcade games, shuffle bowl and lots of T.V.'s with sporting events. You can also see Speedway Indoor Karting (SIK) go-cart cars on the track through the large windows. 1911 installed an elevator last year for those who cannot take the stairs. The entire restaurant is wheelchair accessible from parking, a large ramp, pressure plate entrance, seating, restrooms and access to the second floor. The restaurant is family friendly with the upstairs serving only adults after, I think, 10 p.m. Call ahead to confirm if this might be an issue for your group since things are changing now. This afternoon my husband had one of his favorite, the Cajun Grilled Tenderloin, tender, flavorful with heavy cajun season and served with an option of one side (seasoned fries, tater tots or sweet potato fries). He opted for the delicious seasoned fries and allows me to steal a few to dip in my blue cheese dressing. I ordered the thick Blue Cheese Burger topped with a generous amount of blue cheese crumbles, dill pickles, red onions and a slice of tomato. I ordered medium-rare which is cooked as ordered but very pink throughout just as a heads up. Ask your server which you should order if you are particular. I finished with the chocolate mousse pie with an Oreo crust. It was delicious, creamy and a nice balance of light and dark chocolate. It was a tough decision between the chocolate mousse pie, banana cream pie or a brownie topped with chocolate syrup. Whether you stop in for an appetizer and drink to watch the game or with a few friends for dinner and maybe bowling or axe throwing, you'll have a great time. SIK go-carting is attached to 1911 so start there, drive the go-carts for awhile and then go next door for dinner. Lots to do at Sarah Fishers and her husband, Andy O'Gara's restaurant and go-carting facility. FYI, additional parking behind the restaurant off Ford Street and checkout 1911 for your next event or catering needs. Event rooms are upstairs.
This multilayered pub is a great spot to enjoy dinner out, a game with drinks or time hanging out with friends. We reserved a table by phone and the staff was super helpful both prior and upon arriving. We were able to sit in a small fireplace patio room which gave us some privacy for our group plus a bit of ambience. The server was professional, helpful and went over and above coming back often to help us as our group staggered in at random times. We started with nachos and homemade guacamole, which they added extra to replace the queso we weren't planning to eat. Much appreciated as it was also without an up charge! Our meal was delicious and very affordable. I had a huge berry salad with some additional pecans supplied by our ever gracious server. My husbands beyond burger was charred on the outside and super juicy which impressed him with flavor and texture. Way to go 1911 Grill with the hearty vegan options! Our favorite part of the meal though was the generous substantial curly fries. Yum! Their daily specials are very ample and affordable, so we plan to return. Our group of 8 was impressed and decided we would head back there soon.
1911 has a very fun and has an upbeat setting, being able to look out the windows on the 2nd floor and watch the indoor go cart track while having a refreshing beverage, or even walking out on the mezzanine that they have built over the track to see the track from a different and very cool angle is a ton of fu When you walk in they have an outdoor patio type area that is still indoors... kind of hard to explain haha. They have a downstairs bar and seating area, upstairs bar and seating area with an arcade and duckpin bowling as well! You are sure to have a good time if you stop by for lunch, dinner or just drinks in the place. They have a lot of space and amenities to offer to keep the party going and share laughs and memories with your friends and family. Remember to take care of your waitresses and bartenders. Do yourself a favor and ask for Hope, as she took care of our group and was on her game the whole evening. Kudos to her and her team for making it a great experience.
I wanted somewhere low key for Valentine's Day. So 1911 it was. The food was very good. I had a shrimp salad that I really enjoyed and my date had a cheeseburger. The vibe inside was not my thing. It was dark and just didn't feel warm to me. It felt more like a place to hang out and drink and casually eat. Service was good.
